We have one big bedroom on the 3rd floor of a large house, within walking distance to UMass Amherst, as well as to the center of town that will become available January 1, 2025.
We are looking for graduate students, researchers or faculty who are... serious about their work and looking for a quiet place to sleep and study.
This is NOT a "dormitory" or student-only rental. The ideal housemate is respectful, friendly, quiet, non-smoking, and responsible.
Free wifi comes with the room. All utilities are included.
The bedrooms have large windows and great natural light. A full bathroom, including a clawfoot tub/shower, is also on the 3rd floor for renters' use. This is a shared bathroom with 2 other housemates.
The common space includes a hotel-style kitchenette, including a microwave and mini-refrigerator for tenants' use.
The 3rd floor is accessible via a back door to the house and up a narrow staircase.
This beautiful house was built in 1882 and is in a great neighborhood, just a few blocks from the Amherst town center and the University of Massachusetts.
Foreign graduate students are welcome. Each room is furnished, with renters bringing in their own towels, sheets and blankets. All you have to do is unpack your suitcase.
Because of repeated surges of covid in the community, we are seeking only visiting scholars or graduate students who take pandemic precautions seriously and will not have visitors.
This is an outstanding place to live that is very close to UMass.
