Third-Floor Room Rental in Historic Home, Walking Distance to UMass

We have one big bedroom on the 3rd floor of a large house, within walking distance to UMass Amherst, as well as to the center of town that will become available in late May 2025.

We are looking for graduate students, researchers or faculty who are...
serious about their work and looking for a quiet place to sleep and study.

This is NOT a "dormitory" or student-only rental. The ideal housemate is respectful, friendly, quiet, non-smoking, and responsible.

Free wifi comes with the room. All utilities are included.

The bedrooms have large windows and great natural light. A full bathroom, including a clawfoot tub/shower, is also on the 3rd floor for renters' use. This is a shared bathroom with 2 other housemates.

The common space includes a hotel-style kitchenette, including a microwave and mini-refrigerator, for tenants' shared use.

The 3rd floor is accessible via a back door to the house and up a narrow staircase.

Foreign graduate students are welcome. Each room is furnished, with renters bringing in their own towels, sheets and blankets. All you have to do is unpack your suitcase.

Our home is a friendly and peaceful place to rest, study and rejuvenate. Based on health and safety precautions, we seek only graduate students, researchers or faculty who are exceedingly considerate of others and will not have visitors.

This beautiful house was built in 1881 and is in a great neighborhood, just a few blocks from the Amherst town center and the University of Massachusetts.
