This sweet home in Wendell State Forest sits on four acres, and is deceptively close to everything you need, while feeling quiet and secluded. Nearby swimming spots and walking trails make it the perfect home base to be closer to nature, and it is a... short drive to the local Co-op, restaurants, coffee shop, and other amenities.

You are 18-25 minutes from Montague, Turners Falls, Orange, Greenfield, Hadley, and Amherst, and 35 minutes from Northampton and Athol, giving you access to grocery stores, shops, restaurants, UMass Amherst campus, arts venues, and outdoor recreation. The house has an onsite shared laundry room, hot tub, and WiFi, and can be easily converted into 3 (or even 4) bedrooms upon request.

There is space on the property for gardening and storage, a back patio for eating outside and grilling, and even a chicken coop (currently without residents). There is ample space for parking, and lovely neighbors just up the hill. There is a fire pit and little creek running behind the house. Snow plowing of the driveway is included, as well as trash and recycling weekly curb pickup. Snow shoveling around the house and walkway are the tenant's responsibility.

The house is heated and cooled with mini splits downstairs, and there is a pellet stove and oil furnace for additional/alternative heat in the winter. The upstairs is cooled by window-unit AC in the summer. There are two full bathrooms in the house, one downstairs and one upstairs. The stovetop and oven are electric.

The house is reasonably pet friendly - a dog or cat is fine, with a pet deposit. The yard is not fenced, and there are large animals in the surrounding woods, but we’ve had many a happy animal call this place home. Read More
