My partner and I are looking for a roommate to fill a vacant bedroom in our 2 bedroom apartment, which is within walking distance of Downtown Northampton. We live close to Smith College, on a quaint side-street that’s a 1 minute walk to the bike path and a 5 minute walk to the bus stop at Pulaski Park.

We are both graduate students at UMass Amherst, and are friendly, clean, and peaceful roommates. We have found that the apartment is perfectly spacious for 3 people; there are plenty of areas to relax, work, and prepare food. We would be happy to put you in touch with our current roommate who is moving states, or with others who can attest to our living habits and the quality of life in the apartment!

Our apartment is on the first floor of a 3 story house. The open bedroom has a closet and a nice view. It is also the sunniest room in the house in the afternoon! Additionally, there is 1 bathroom, a good-sized kitchen, a garage for bike storage, room for an additional desk in a shared office, a furnished living room and sunroom, and a raised garden bed. The bedroom accommodates an AC unit, and the whole apartment is heated by very effective vintage radiators, keeping costs comparatively low in Winter. We enjoy sharing things like kitchenware and household items but there will be storage space set aside just for you.

The move-in date is flexible. The room will be available starting Dec 1st, but we can accommodate January or February move-in dates as well. The initial rent period is for 6 months, but with an option to extend for one year (18 months total). We want to secure a roommate through the Spring 2027 semester, and possibly longer, so we hope you extend!
