Who we’re seeking: a student committed to co-creating a wonderful place to call home. This is likely to... include: strong communications skills, maturity, consideration of others, taking good care of the home, flexibility, and bringing your unique good energy to the household. We are looking for someone who would like to connect with housemates and co-create a place that feels homey.
What’s to like: the people, water views, multiple hiking trails from the house, spacious pleasant room with very comfortable bed and a large closet, living room, dining room, kitchen, front patio overlooking the water, and 2 bathrooms are shared space. Washer, dryer (new), dishwasher (also new) and other kitchen appliances. Off street parking. Woodstove (as well as central heating). All utilities included in rent. Courteous, friendly, mellow household. LBGTQ+ friendly. No houses in sight. Two house cats and a happy puppy who will gladly adopt you.
Who lives here: The house is shared with other students (one returning and one other who will be new next year) as well as the owner (who works at Amherst College). The house is a cheerful, nurturing home.
Other details: A car is essential. Candidates will have a chance to meet with housemates as part of the mutual decision process. A second room will open up over the summer and whomever rents this room will be involved in the selection process. Housework is shared. This room is suitable for a single individual, not a couple.
Ideally, we are hoping for someone who will join us in June and stay through the next school year. That said, we would consider someone who either wanted June 1 - August 31 or Sept 1 - May 31.
All these details don't capture what it is like to start your day watching the sun rise over the water, to hear the barred owls at night or to meander the woods which surround us.
