1 BR, 3/4 BA+ kitchenette suite in no-meat shared home (friendly dog welcome!)

Seeking grad, postdoc, faculty, or professional for room and suite in faculty family home. Couple or single parent with child considered. Basement suite includes bedroom, 3/4 bath, kitchenette, $950 including utilities most months, $900 for low-heat,... low-electricity months May-October. Shared spaces upstairs: full kitchen, living room, sun room, yard and garden. 15 minute walk to north end of campus (Ed School) and 10 min walk to PVTA route 33. House is peanut-free and meat-free (vegetarian/pescatarian--except for dogfood); main kitchen is gluten-free. Residents are 61-year-old faculty member, 5-year-old dog, and when not at college, 21-year-old son. I am seeking a housemate, not just a tenant: someone who will have meals ~once/week and be interested on occasion to hang out and chat, play cards, go on dogwalks, etc. I'd love it if you have a sociable dog who could be friends with our dog. We are environmentally conscious and a bit quirky (we're academics after all), and we welcome someone who is open-minded, friendly but also sometimes quiet and independent, interested in thinking and talking about world affairs, natural history, different cultures, climate change, sports, teaching and learning, or other topics of the day. Please email if you are interested and tell us about yourself, and your interest in the rooms. LGBTQ and international-friendly.
